away from our condo. Our condo is the closest condo available to
the DECC (Duluth Entertainment Convention Center). Watch the UMD
hockey games in the new expansion opening in 2010, or check out
Duluth's Broadway productions, concerts, Home and Sport shows, Dog
shoes, Minnesota Ballet, and other corporate and public events. |

One
of US Steel's Great Lake Retired Ships is located right outside
our condo bedroom window. Simply walk to the side of the boat and

Omnimax Theater: |
Next
to our condo is the Omnimax theater (it is behind the William
Irvin - see in the above photo to the right of the William Irvin).
Hang onto your seat as you fly over mountains, wrestle grizzly

Superior Maritime Visitor Center: |
Walk
to the Lake Superior Maritime Museum at 600 Lake Ave S. 218-720-5280.Find
out all there is to know about the ships on the Great Lakes. It
is a free museum preserving the maritime heritage of Lake Superior
and the Port. |
| Great
Lakes Aquarium: |
On
the other side of the DECC is the Great Lakes Aquarium which was
built in 2000. Watch over 70 different species of fish, birds, reptiles
and mammals. 218-740-FISH 353 harbor Drive The Great Lakes Aquarium
aspires to the understanding and exploration of the Great Lakes
and their interconnection with global ecosystems. Their facilities
can also be rented after hours for wedding receptions and other
events. |

Take
a boat tour of our bay, the port and Lake Superior, while riding
under the Aerial Lift Bridge and floating past lighthouses, mansions,

from elegant dinner cruises, pizza cruises or simply just a boat
ride. |

Endeavors: |
Practice
your climbing skills at this 14,000 sq feet of pure climbing.
218-279-9980 simply go out the Lake Avenue door and take a right
to 329 S Lake Ave. Vertical Endeavors is less than a block away
from our condo. Climbers can test their skills on walls up to
42 feet high on three different types of climbing walls. Scattered
throughout the facility are 30 top ropes, lead climbing, 12 Auto
Belays, and a large bouldering cave. Rent your equipment there
or bring your own.

Hat Carriage Services: |

1/2 Canal Park Drive (corner of Canal Park Drive and Morse St) Catch
a carriage tour if you are a romantic or simply love the old-fashioned
carriage rides. To catch a ride, walk our S Lake Ave door and take
a right to the corner, turn left when you see DeWitt Seitz Shops
and walk to the fountain, take a right at the fountain and walk
to the next corner. The horses will be on your left. |
| Old
Fashioned Trolley: |
Catch
the trolley to view other attractions in Downtown Duluth. for 50
cents you can have a 30 minute ride. The port town trolley runs
daily during the summer and rides a loop around the bayfront and
canal park. Trolleys are wheelchair accessible. |
| Bayfront
Park: |
Fly
your kite or enjoy the concerts at Bayfront Park. Walk to our parking
lot and past the William Irvin Ore Boat, continue around the corner
following Lake Superior and you will end up in Bayfront Park. The
Festival of Lights is held here in December. Within Bayfront Park
is Lois Paulucci Music Pavilion used for many large music progrms
throught-out the summer. |
| Duluth
Rose Garden: |
If
you are in the mood for a walk down our beautiful Lakewalk, follow
this almost to the end and you will find our majestic Rose Garden.
A walk worth the trip. Count over 2000 rose bushes of some 99
varieties and numerous trees, shrubs and other flowers.

| Lakewalk: |
Your
trip to Duluth will not be complete without a walk down Duluth's4.5
mile Lakewalk. It practically starts in the parking lot of our
condo (it actually starts at Bayfront Park). Walk to the Marina
and take a left on the boardwalk. The Lakewalk traces teh shore
of Lake Superior fronting Duluth's downtown area. Along the way
you will see the marina, the aerial lift Bridge, Duluth's port,
sculptures representing Duluth and its sister cities in Sweden,
Russia and Japan, the Northland Vietnam Veterans and Korean War
Memorials, Leif Erickson Park and the Rose Garden.

| Fitgers
Museum: |
Following
the Lakewalk from our condo, you will pass the Fitgers Museum and
shopping mall. In 1859 this Fitger's beerhouse was in full force
with the coldest beer in the Northland brewed right here. Now it
is a renovated mall, but you can still view the old copper kettles.218-722-0410 |
| Depot
and Train Museum: |
In
1910 the Depot was once a full fledged Train Depot dispatching over
50 trains a say from Duluth to seven railroads. Follow in the steps
of George Clooney and Renee Zellweger as they stopped at this Depot
in 2009 to promote their new movie.218-727-8025. Ride an actual
train ride up the North Shore or just tour the old trains in the
lower level of the depot. Catch a plan at the Duluth Playhouse which
is connected to the Depot. |
| Glensheen
Mansion: |
Tour
one of Duluth mansions built in the days when Duluth had more millionaires
per capa than any other city in the USA. Take a taxi to reach this
museum. Learn about the Congdons and how Duluth made them millionaires.
Use their mansion for your private events or wedding or even your

| Skyline
Drive |
If
you have a car, riding along Duluth's Skyline Drive is a must.
The dramatic 30-mile drive 600 feet above the shoreline offers
the best views of Lake Superior, the harbor and the Twin Ports.
Drive slow as the turns can be life threatening if taken too fast.
Watch for the frequent observation points and markers.

Erickson Park: |
Off
of the lakewalk you will find Leif Erickson Park which holds Duluth's
Leif Erickson Viking ship. This type of ship brought many of Duluth's
residents over from Norway, Germany, Finland, etc. to discover
America in 997. This particular ship was built in Korgen, Northern
Norway according to drawings from the 12th century. The vessel
is 42 feet long, 12 feet 9 inches beam and draws 4 feet of water....The
vessel is built of Norway Pine. The Dragon's Head and Tail were
made by the architect Gerhard Lilletvedt of Bergen.

| Enger
Tower |
Sitting
531 feet above lake level, Enger Tower and Gardens were dedicted
by Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Martha of Norway on June
15, 1939. The dedication was in honor of Bert Enger, a native
of Norway who came to this country and became a successful furniture
dealer. Mr. Enger donated 2/3 of his estate to the city of duluth
which included this land known as Enger Hill. Climb the 5 story
tower made of natural blue stone to enjoy spectacular views of
Duluth and it's harbour. Bring a bag lunch as this is a perfect
place for a picnic. Enger tower is also the home of Enger Park
and Enger Golf Course.

all the snow Duluth receives during it's winter months, Spirit Mountain
captures Duluth's skiiers and snowboarders on over 175 skiable acres

1914 Duluth's actors have been in action at our Playhouse. |
| Zoo: |
Open
Daily and year round our Duluth Zoo has lions and tigers and bears.
Take a taxi to 71st Ave West and Grand 730-4900. The zoo opens
at 10am.
